Who we are
OnlineBet is run by OnlineBet. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us its controller under data protection law, including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We follow the GDPR principles whenever we handle your data. In short, we:
- only use it for a clear reason and tell you what that reason is,
- collect no more than we need, and keep it correct and up to date,
- keep it no longer than we have to,
- keep it secure, and can show how we meet these rules.
What we collect
When you open an account: your email address, your password (stored only as a one-way hash, so nobody here can read it), your date of birth, the invite code you joined with, if any, and the nickname and picture you choose. If you hide your details, other players don’t see your name or picture.
When you sign in with Google, Telegram, X or Facebook: the ID that service gives you, your name as shown there and, if it shares one, your email address. We never see or store your password for that service, and we don’t post anything for you. Telegram doesn’t share an email, so you type it yourself.
When you use the site: the times you log in, your IP address, your browser and the type of device (desktop, phone, tablet), and which days you were active. We use this to keep your account safe and to understand how the site is used. You can see the devices signed in to your account under Account → Privacy.
When you play: every bet, with its stake, result and payout, and the provably fair seeds behind it. Bets are shown to other players in winners’ lists and bet slips, without your name if you’ve chosen to hide it.
When you deposit or withdraw: the amount, the coin and network, the deposit address we gave you, the address you withdraw to, the blockchain transaction IDs, and the name and email you enter on a withdrawal. Crypto payments are public on their blockchain by nature, so anyone can see a transaction, though not that it belongs to you.
When you talk to others: your chat messages, game comments and ratings. These are public on the site.
When you contact us: your support tickets and emails, and our replies.
Cookies: see the cookie policy for each cookie we use and why.
We don’t ask for identity documents at the moment. If we start to, we’ll update this policy first.
Why we use it
The law only lets us use personal data when we have a valid reason. Ours, and the legal basis for each:
| What we do | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Run your account, log you in and give you the games and services you ask for | Contract |
| Check that you are at least 18 and allowed to play | Legal obligation; contract |
| Confirm your email address with a code | Contract; legitimate interest |
| Spot and stop fraud, account takeovers, money laundering and other misuse, and keep the site secure | Legal obligation; legitimate interest |
| Help you when you contact support | Contract |
| Look after players’ wellbeing and support safer gambling | Legal obligation; legitimate interest |
| Count visits and measure how features are used, as anonymous statistics | Legitimate interest; consent for statistics cookies |
| Send you news, bonuses and offers | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Show you OnlineBet ads on other websites | Consent for marketing cookies |
Where we rely on legitimate interest, we have weighed our reason against your privacy, and you can object to it (see your rights).
Some data is needed to give you an account at all. Without an email address and date of birth, for example, we can’t let you play.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal data. We only share it with:
- companies that run part of the service for us, such as our hosting provider and the email service that delivers your verification codes,
- our crypto payment provider, NOWPayments, which handles deposits and withdrawals and sees the payment details needed for that,
- regulators, the police and other authorities when the law requires it, for example to investigate fraud or money laundering,
- a company that takes over our business, which must keep this policy.
Each of them gets only what they need for their job and must protect it as carefully as we do.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. After you close it, we keep what the law requires for anti-money-laundering, tax and fraud checks, usually between five and ten years depending on the rule, and then delete it.
Records of the choices you made on our cookie banner are kept as proof of your consent for as long as we may be asked to show it.
How we protect it
- All traffic to OnlineBet is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Passwords are stored only as a salted one-way hash.
- Your login cookie can’t be read by scripts on the page, and verification codes are stored only in hashed form.
- Only a small number of staff can see player data, and only for their work.
No system is perfectly safe. If a breach ever puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Cookies
We use cookies that the site needs to work, and statistics or marketing cookies only if you allow them. The cookie policy lists every cookie, and you can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.
Transfers outside your country
Some of our providers may store data outside the European Economic Area or the UK. When they do, we use the safeguards the law provides, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, so your data stays protected to the same standard.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you,
- correct anything that is wrong or out of date,
- delete your data, unless the law requires us to keep it,
- restrict how we use it while a question about it is sorted out,
- send your data to you or to another company in a common format,
- stop using it where we rely on legitimate interest,
- have a person review a decision that was made only by a computer.
Where we use your data because you agreed to it, you can withdraw that agreement at any time. That doesn’t make what we did before unlawful.
Email privacy@onlinebet.game from the address on your account. We reply within one month. You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Players under 18
OnlineBet is for adults only. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we close any account we find belongs to a minor.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change affects you in a meaningful way, we will also tell you by email or with a notice on the site.
